Borax Manufacturers and Suppliers in India

Sudarshan Group manufactures and supplies Borax in technical and industrial grades for buyers across India and export markets. Borax, also known as sodium borate or sodium tetraborate, is used as a raw material in glass, ceramics, detergents, agriculture, metallurgy and cosmetics. Our production is backed by in-house micronising and grading, with a certificate of analysis released for every consignment.
What Is Borax?
Borax is a naturally occurring boron compound with the chemical formula Na2B4O7·xH2O. It is mined and refined into a white, crystalline or powdered form and is valued for its role as a flux, a buffering agent and a source of boron oxide. Depending on the water content, Borax is supplied as decahydrate or pentahydrate, and the grade is selected based on the application it is going into.

Applications by Industry

Glass and Ceramics Manufacturing
Borax lowers the melting point of silica and improves the thermal shock resistance of glass, which is why it goes into borosilicate glass, fiberglass and glazes. In ceramics, it acts as a flux that helps glazes fuse evenly at lower firing temperatures.

Detergents and Cleaning Formulations
Borax is used in laundry detergents and cleaning formulations as a water softener, stain remover and mild alkaline booster. It also has mild antifungal and antibacterial properties that support its use in household cleaning products.

Agriculture and Fertilizers
Boron is an essential micronutrient for crops, and Borax is used as a raw material in boron-based fertilizers and soil amendments. It supports flowering, seed formation and cell wall development in crops that are prone to boron deficiency.

Welding and Metallurgical Flux
In metal fabrication, Borax is used as a flux for welding and brazing. It prevents oxidation of the metal surface during heating and helps the filler metal flow evenly across the joint.

Cosmetics and Personal Care
Borax is used in small, regulated quantities in creams, lotions and soaps as an emulsifier and pH buffering agent.
