Calcium Oxide (Quick Lime) Manufacturers and Suppliers in India

Sudarshan Group supplies Calcium Oxide, commonly called Quick Lime, in powder form to industrial buyers across India and export markets. Quick Lime is used in steel making, water treatment, construction, paper manufacturing and chemical processing, where it works as a flux, a neutralising agent and a source of reactive calcium. Our production is backed by in-house grinding and classification, with a certificate of analysis released for every consignment.
What Is Calcium Oxide?
Calcium Oxide has the chemical formula CaO and is made by heating limestone (CaCO3) at high temperature in a process called calcination, which drives off carbon dioxide and leaves a white, highly reactive solid. It is then ground into powder of a controlled fineness. When mixed with water, Quick Lime reacts quickly and gives off heat to form calcium hydroxide, also known as slaked lime, which is the property that makes it useful across so many industries.

Applications by Industry

Steel and Metallurgy
Quick Lime is used as a flux in steel making, where it combines with silica, phosphorus and sulphur to form slag that can be removed from the molten metal. It is also used in the production of other non ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper and magnesium.

Water and Wastewater Treatment
Quick Lime raises the pH of water, softens hard water and helps precipitate heavy metals and suspended solids. Treatment plants use it to neutralise acidic effluent before discharge.

Construction and Building Materials
Quick Lime is the base material for lime mortar, plaster and soil stabilisation. It is also used in the manufacture of autoclaved aerated concrete blocks and calcium silicate bricks.

Paper and Pulp
In the paper industry, Quick Lime is used in the causticising step of the kraft process to recover sodium hydroxide, and as a source of calcium for making precipitated calcium carbonate.

Chemical and Sugar Processing
Quick Lime is used to make calcium carbide, calcium hypochlorite and other calcium compounds. In sugar refining, it is used to purify cane juice by removing impurities before crystallisation.

Agriculture and Soil Treatment
Farmers and soil specialists use Quick Lime to raise the pH of acidic soil and improve nutrient availability for crops.
Key Features
- High reactivity powder supplied to agreed specification limits
- Grinding and classification controlled at our own plants
- Suitable for steel, water treatment, construction, paper and chemical use
- Packing options include bulk, jumbo bag, HDPE and laminated bags
- Certificate of analysis issued with every batch
Handling and Storage
Quick Lime reacts with moisture in the air and with water, so it should be kept in sealed, dry packing and stored away from damp surfaces. Workers handling the powder should wear gloves, eye protection and a dust mask, since contact with skin, eyes or the respiratory tract can cause irritation or burns. Our laminated and HDPE packing options are designed to protect the product during transport and storage.
Why Choose Sudarshan Group
Sudarshan Group has been manufacturing and supplying industrial minerals and chemicals since 1975. We work with steel plants, treatment operators, construction material manufacturers and paper mills to supply Quick Lime at the grade and volume their operations need, backed by our track record of consistent quality and timely delivery.
